At CUA, we value each and every one of our members. That’s why on Thursday, November 2nd, CUA held its fifth annual Member Appreciation Day, which featured both in-branch and online celebrations. To show our gratitude, we spent the day surprising our members with some wonderful gifts and prizes.

Throughout the month of October, members were encouraged to submit digital ballots to enter CUA’s Member Appreciation Day giveaway. Starting on October 13th, three lucky winners won early bird prizes each Friday throughout the month, which included $75 gift cards to CUA member businesses New Scotland, R Studios, and Halifax Brewery Market.

In celebration of our 75th Anniversary Year, CUA introduced two very special SurPrizes for our members: one $750 deposit to a savings product of the winner’s choice, and one $750 mortgage payment for two randomly selected members. A big congratulations to Grant Romkey and Megan Barr!

To kick-start Member Appreciation Day, our CUA Commercial Team went out into the community to visit a number of our commercial members, delivering care packages as they went. Along with a thank you card, each package contained flowers from member Jake’s Florist & Chocolatier and treats from member Cortado Tasting Room.

The celebration continued in our branches as slices of cake and 2024 desk calendars were gifted to members who stopped by. We hope our members enjoyed this tasty treat!

As the contest period ended, our team drew the names of several giveaway winners who had entered our prize draws:

• Member Kevin Bates won our grand prize of $750 cash!
• Bruce Naugler was the winner of our Home Harmony Package, which included $400 to Organize Anything with Collette Robicheau.
• Our Day in Downtown Dartmouth Package, which included a 75-minute massage at Nature Folk Wellness Center, a Radiance Facial at Interlude Spa, and a $100 gift card to Dear Friend Bar was won by Annette Morash.
• A Holiday Date Night Package was gifted to Mark Fisher, which included tickets to Neptune Theatre’s A Christmas Carol and dinner at Highwayman Restaurant & Bar.
• Jennifer Betts was the winner of our Kids Fun Factory Package with two $100 gift cards to Kids Fun Factory and Get Air Trampoline Park.
• Finally, our CUA Cinema Package, which includes a $100 gift card to Cineplex, was won by Sabrina Janick.
