Rebuilding Together

Like many of you, I have been closely following the recent news of the wildfire damage in our Province. In just a few short days, so much has changed for so many. My thoughts are with the firefighters and other first responders, as well as all those who have been directly affected. An emergency situation such as this one introduces a lot of uncertainty, particularly as it comes to the financial challenges some are suddenly facing.

As our community begins to rebuild after these terrible events, I’m inspired by the acts of kindness and generosity that friends, neighbours, and strangers have shown towards one another. I’m reminded that Nova Scotians are stronger together. In such a short time, we have seen so many stories of individuals, businesses and organizations coming together to support each other and the community as a whole.

I encourage each of you to take care of yourselves, both physically and mentally, and remember to check in regularly with your family, friends and loved ones. Oftentimes, it is the small moments of connection and caring that make the biggest difference when we are maneuvering through a crisis.
