75th Anniversary
We are proud to have been serving Nova Scotians since 1948. Since then, the financial well-being of our customers has always been a top priority. We will be celebrating this significant milestone with 75 different initiatives and activities throughout 2023. Some of these activities are taking place internally with our staff, while other events and contests are designed for our members and our community. We had such a wonderful day celebrating our members on November 2nd with a full day of in-branch treats, surprise visits and giveaways.
To generate excitement for CUA's sixth annual $10k in a Day event, our Better Way Street Team hosted on-the-spot giveaways at several campuses around the HRM.
During the Halifax Pride Festival, staff at each of our branches participated in our Annual Pride Decorating Contest. Check out some of the highlights.
Branch visitors were invited to participate in our Pride Photo Booth, which we turned into a community collage.
Our CUA Carnivals took place at the Alderney Landing Farmers' Market, the Halifax Brewery Farmers' Market, and the Gottingen Street Festival.
To mark the special occasion of our 75th Anniversary, we hung this CUA75 Commemorative Plaque as a new, permanent fixture at CUA's Corporate Office.
For 75 years, our members have been at the heart of everything we do. During our 2023 AGM, we incorporated a selection of comments and stories from our members describing their experience with the CUA Difference.
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. In honour of Earth Day, we planted 75 new trees in Nova Scotia.
Our 2023 Community Investment Grant Program awarded funding in five categories to 20 businesses and organizations in Nova Scotia.

Early on Valentine's Day as everyone hustled from buses, gyms and coffee shops, our team greeted members of our community with smiles and roses to wish everyone a lovely start to the day.
We asked our members to share what they love about CUA for a chance to win a $75 gift card to CUA member business Nature Folk Wellness Studio. Our team received over 260 responses!
