Reopening the Economy

As we near the mid-point of a year like no other, Nova Scotia is taking the first steps to reopening the economy. Our team remains focused on our response and responsibility to you – a valued customer and member of the CUA community.

For three months now, our workplaces, homes, recreational activities and daily routines have been guided by the realities of a global pandemic. And while the loss of control has been universal, the impact of the virus has been personal – especially when it comes to finances.

For some, the pandemic and resulting economic pause has deepened existing hardships or created new challenges. For others, a decline in lifestyle and recreational programming has resulted in a temporary account balance increase. A majority of Canadians have used less cash since the onset of coronavirus, and Interac has seen a surge in first-time e-transfer users. As our financial behaviours adapt, we have an opportunity to consider what new habits we want to carry forward, leaving others behind.

Many individuals and organizations are asking a lot of questions that are tough to answer: How long will this last? What will the impact be on my business or investments?
