CUA Supports Members Facing Financial Uncertainty

The full-service banking institution has launched comprehensive financial assistance measures to support individuals and businesses

Halifax, N.S. — CUA has announced a Financial Assistance Program to help alleviate the stress of individuals and businesses whose income or livelihood has been affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic. These measures are available to members effective March 20.

“At CUA, every decision we make is with members top of mind. That’s especially true today, and we are committed to doing everything we can to help those facing financial hardship or uncertainty during this time,” said Marie Mullally, President & CEO, CUA. “We are here to help,” she added.

There are a variety of measures available to assist individuals and businesses who bank with CUA. Individuals may qualify for mortgage or term loan deferrals of up to six months, additional overdraft, and flexible options to help manage their line of credit. Businesses may qualify for payment deferrals and extended amortizations of up to six months as well as increases in existing loans. At the outset of the COVID-19 outbreak, CUA connected with many members and business owners about their concerns in this situation. Their questions and stories supported the measures the organization has launched today to help affected members through this situation.
