Settling into System Changes and Fall Weather
I would like to begin this message by acknowledging the patience and kindness of members leading up to, during and following the recent change, navigating the brand-new system and any challenges encountered in this first month. When we began communicating the upcoming changes and required member actions in May, we understood that not having access to your online banking for any period of time would be a significant inconvenience, and we are grateful for the cooperation of so many of you.
As you may be aware, in anticipation of the need for added support, our branches and Customer Contact Centre had extended hours and additional staff in place for two weeks following the conversion. Going forward, we will continue providing support and have additional resources in place, particularly for those members who require special assistance. If you haven't seen them already, we have created a number of easy-to-follow Member Instruction Guides to help you in completing common transactions and learning the features of this new system. These guides are available on our website.
I would also like to express my appreciation to our entire staff for their commitment to our members, particularly during the post-conversion period. It was all hands on deck and a real team effort during this very busy time.
In other news, I am pleased to advise we held our annual $10K in a Day event between September 3-5, where our Better Way Street Team took to post-secondary campuses across HRM to hand out school supplies and over $10,000 in tuition prizes to ten well-deserving students. The Better Way Street Team also held a ‘Piggy Bank Scavenger Hunt’ where 20 CUA mini piggy banks were hidden across HRM, each containing a prize of $50 with a 1/20 chance to win $500. We are always happy to be able to give back to the community through initiatives like these—follow CUA on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X to be the first to know about our next community event.
