More Than Banking

At CUA, we think about member satisfaction often — it’s what drives us to do what we do. Helping someone achieve their financial goals can have a significant positive impact on their life and the lives of those around them, and it is incredibly fulfilling to know our efforts can contribute to their success.

We also think a lot about what banking means to our members, along with what it takes to go beyond satisfaction and deliver the “wow” experience that helps everyday people get ahead. We ask for feedback on what we do and how we do it in order to understand your needs and expectations, and to gain insight into how we can build even stronger bonds with you. A key part of those efforts is our Annual Member Survey that was recently completed. I’d like to thank the record number of members who responded to us this year including Andrew Cranmer, who won the $1,000 prize draw. The fact that so many participated this year is inspiring to us, especially given that over eight in ten respondents continue to hold a high degree of overall satisfaction with CUA. We value the relationships we’ve built with you because we strive to provide more than banking.

We use the phrase The better way to bank because we believe that high satisfaction stems in part from CUA being a different kind of bank. We think differently about what banking can be. It’s more than transactions, deposits or many of the products and services commonly provided by financial institutions. It’s about ensuring those we serve are better off because we serve them. We do everything we can to ensure you achieve your goals, starting with the flexible products, personalized service and quick decisions you’ve come to expect from us. Throughout your journey, we will remain dedicated to helping you have the knowledge, tools and support to achieve and maintain financial well-being. It’s about financial literacy, including providing information and expertise to help you learn about your own finances. It’s about working directly with entrepreneurs and Nova Scotia businesses to provide them the guidance and support to succeed. And, it’s about investing in the individuals and organizations that are helping build our communities.

Earlier this spring, I thanked you for your continued loyalty and engagement. I offer those thanks again as we look ahead to another year together, and I remain immensely proud of my colleagues and the work we’ve been able to do with you. We remain committed to serving your needs as they change, however they change, and we all look forward to what we can do together in 2021.

On behalf of the entire CUA Team, we wish you a happy and safe holiday season.
