Summer Forecast: Hot Upgrades

Mark August 19th on your calendars—the countdown to even better banking is on!  We began talking about this change in May and over the past year, the CUA Team has been very focused on implementing a new and improved online and mobile banking system. We are now just two weeks away from the beginning of conversion weekend, which starts on Friday, August 16.  This change is a major milestone for CUA, and we are excited for you to experience the benefits and improved performance of our new system.

As with any large-scale change, some challenges are expected, and we are here to support you along the way. To help you prepare, we created a number of resources, including a Member Action List, a detailed list of Q&A’s, instruction guides and how-to videos. We also recently added a new suite of instruction guides to our website to assist you in accessing the new system and in completing common transactions. Review the guides to prepare and get a sneak peak of what to expect on August 19th, when you can start using the new system.

If you have not yet confirmed your mobile phone number and email address is up to date within online banking, please take a moment to do so now.  It is crucial that we have your correct information, or you will not be able to access the new system.  If you would like help completing this step, please refer to the instruction guide, reach out to a member of our Customer Contact Centre, or visit your nearest branch.

As we have communicated since June, online banking, mobile banking and telephone banking will be temporarily unavailable over the conversion weekend, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16 until 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 19. Sending and receiving Interac e-Transfers will not resume until 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20.

While this type of service interruption is common in IT system changes, we apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate this requires you to plan ahead to ensure you do not have to do any online transactions, such as e-Transfers or bill payments, during this weekend. Please note you will still be able to use your Member (debit) Card for making purchases in a store or accessing an ATM during conversion weekend. Important dates and links to all relevant information to help you prepare for the new system are listed below:

Important Dates:

  • Thursday, August 15 – Last full day to update contact information and save any optional information from your online/mobile banking (i.e., Interac e-Transfer contacts). Please check the Member Action List to ensure you have completed all relevant items.

One of our most impactful initiatives in our Community Investment Strategy is the annual $10K in a Day event. This is the seventh year and the 2024 event is taking place between September 3 and September 6. Students can enter a digital ballot between now and September 6 for the chance to win one of ten $1,000 tuition prizes. In addition, CUA’s Better Way Street Team will be touring post-secondary campuses to provide even more tuition money to students!
