During 2020, many Canadians received the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), a taxable benefit of up to $500 per week for a temporary period. For CERB recipients, you will have to claim the payments as income on your 2020 tax return and pay any taxes on this income when you file the return in 2021.
